Unlike typical canteens, Arctic Canteens are specially insulated to prevent water and other liquids from freezing. Believe it or not, it's just as important to stay hydrated in cold weather as hot weather, so in the 1960s, the U.S. military developed the Arctic Canteen. Ironically, it was first deployed in the sweltering heat of Vietnam.
